Putting Life on Hold

I've been browsing the farm classifieds for sheep, pigs, ducks and dairy cows for the last few months. After all, we were going to break ground on our dream house this Fall and would finally be living on a nice little chunk of property.

Our last chance for financing fell through, though, and it's pretty official that until our ground has no crops on it and our taxes show no indication of agricultural income from the property, we're sunk. The absolute earliest, then, is 2015.

That stings.

Bye bye awesome mortgage interest rates, most likely. No living on the property means no livestock. No house means no adoption.

I can feel your disappointment and sadness coming through your post. Will keep you in prayer. I know this may not be a comfort, but God does have something else for you. I've seen that many times in my life when I've wanted something so, so badly and plans have fallen through. It definitely hurts at the time, but later I've been so relieved that God didn't listen to "my way."

Today is much brighter, now that the news has sunk in. I read, recently, that if everything in your life is going peachy keen, then your spiritual life must be in shambles. Only when we're progressing do things start to crumble :). It is a hopeful sign, then, that my recommitment to serious prayer lately has borne such fruit. There's got to be some resurrection amidst all this cross!
Thanks so much for your kind and hopeful words.

Thanks, Jennie. I think all I wanted was a little sympathy, hehe... so I truly appreciate it. :)

Yeah... the bite is a little hard to swallow, but I know God must have something better in mind... even if it's just for me to learn that I don't always get my way :).  Thank you so much for your empathy!

Huge bummer...sending hugs and sympathy your way, along with a few prayers that God will show you his perfect plan. Even BETTER than the plans you had in mind!
