A Leopard Can't Change Its Spots

A word to the wise:

If you buy bitter beer and cook it, it's still bitter. Only now you've got a whole pot of bitter food instead of just a bottle of bitter beer.

Better to imbibe the bitter brew than to broaden its brutal bite.

Are you a fan of bitter ale?

I try to avoid cooking with beer at all costs. I read somewhere that a suitable substitute could be concocted by mixing rootbeer with a little vinegar. Have not tried this yet.

Nope, bleh! I came to the same conclusion after making Guiness Stew for St Patricks day...Do NOT use the Stout beer, it indeed made the whole stew bitter! bleh!

Hm... sounds interesting! We usually like beer-cooked bratwursts and sometimes apple pork chops, but that bitter beer was pretty gross. :)

Guinness EXTRA Stout cannot be hidden... even in Irish Bomb Cupcakes ;).

hehehe... my husband is saving the bitter beer for company. He thinks some people actually like the stuff and is planning on "sharing" it with others ;).

Oh no! I did the same thing. I bought some beer to cook brats in and it turned out terrible! I have one bottle of beer left, and can't bring myself to drink it (Thankfully I only bought a 4 pack of it - so having 1 left isn't a total waste..)
