What do soap, candles, and french fries have in common?

I'm never sure if these kinds of riddles are rhetorical.  I won't give my answer, just in case...but if it is what I'm thinking it is, I can hardly wait!

My guess is the word French as in French-milled soap, French vanilla scented candles, and French fries.

Animal fat!  One of the ingredients in all three used to be animal fat.

If they are homemade, maybe they all include an oil or fat in them?? olive oil? coconut oil? lard?
