P90X

Anybody else ever done P90X?

I thought I was tough. I thought I had a high pain threshold. I thought I had great will power and could force myself to do things I didn't think I could do.

Let me tell you, I am a PANSY!!!

Day 1 down, 89 to go.

The soreness hasn't even set in, but I think I'm going to die.

That is all.

When I HEAR of P90X, my muscles start hurting. Good luck to you. You are a stronger woman than me!!!

I don't believe in exercise for excercise's sake.  I prefer to get my workout hauling feed sacks, babies, and firewood.  :-)

Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger.  :)  I've never actually done the entire P90X program, but one of my senseis likes to use components of the program for karate warm ups, along with stuff from Crossfit and some good old-fashioned plyometric drills.

Hang in there!  Forming a regular exercise routine can be rough.  First you think you're going to die, then you know you're going to die, then you wish you could die, and finally you realize that you cannot be killed.  :)

Just looked it up.  Ummm, I'm at the end of my first week of Couch to 5K.  I'm not a fan of pain.  Or excercise, really.  Not as an activity for it's own sake.  I guess I can quit patting myself on the back before I break my arm!  Good for you, though.   That looks tough!

Well, apparently not, 'cause I injured my elbows when doing it and now can't even scratch my back. Looks like I'll be laid up for 6 weeks or so. BAD idea! Next time I'll ease into it :).

Alas, the life of this homeschooling teacher is not filled with opportunities for built-in exercise. It usually involves walking from one room to another to sharpen a pencil :). If I don't supplement with exercise for exercise's sake, I can't button my jeans ;).

I used to think that, and then I discovered (this morning) that what didn't kill me has maimed me for the next 6 weeks with a torn something or other! GAH!!
I love your stages, though, that's hilarious! :) I'm still in the first one, I think.

Couch to 5k! Yes! I'm really interested in that one, but it's so darned COLD outside that I can't get myself out on that track. I thought a video would help, and it did, until I overdid it :(. Ah well.
Good luck with the 5k training! Let us know how it goes!

Yeah, cold here too.  And hilly.  I'm doing it on the eliptical trainer downstairs.  So far, I'm actually liking it.  NO pain.  I'm thinking I'll be able to button my jeans soon.

I've never had the guts to try P90X, but I've been curious. I hate the cold, so I knew walking around the track at school would not happen, so I thought a tape system would work for me. I'm curious though, did you need to outfit yourself with a home gym system when starting it? I'm happy with my Tae Bo tapes, and the box sets provide you with the equipment (which is minimal). I hope your elbow feels better soon. Resting is wise, and so is easing into any exercise system. Good luck and feel better soon!

Jonathan and I have gone through the whole series twice...I love it! It is definitely hard but works great...I stopped when I had Sebastian and haven't gone through it again yet.

GOOD LUCK...just stay dedicated!

Woo hoo! Yay for liking exercise :-D.

No, with P90X you need maybe a few hand weights and some resistance bands (and/or a chin-up bar). It was really intense but I really liked it, until I woke up the next morning :). Almost a week later I still can't move my right elbow very far, so I might have to go see a doctor :( NOT FUN!

If anybody you know has it (or the library) try a disc or two! I wouldn't buy the whole system without trying it first (so glad I did or I'd have a small library of expensive DVDs I can't even lift off the shelf, hehe).

Would that I could! Unfortunately I think until this torn muscle heals I won't be able to scratch my forehead, much less do P90X :). But someday (when I'm more fit to start with) I'd really like to give it another go, 'cause I did REALLY like it!

I haven't tried P90X, but I'm a dedicated home exerciser and find different workout DVDs are a better option for me, rather than a regimented system.  Besides, P90X is expensive.  Supreme 90 is very similar at it's only $20 on collagevideo.com.  Have fun, I think being in great shape is one of the biggest gifts you can give yourself, and your husband! :)

Yeah, I'm very glad I didn't buy P90X (just borrowed it), as I definitely need to work up for it :). I'll check out Supreme 90, thanks!
