Of Hot Dogs

I used to think all hot dogs were created equally. Once you put it on a bun and slathered it with mustard, ketchup, onions, relish, chili, cheese and the whole works, you couldn't really taste the underlying dog. Boy was I wrong. (Sorry, folks, I've had Nathan's and Hebrew National before and couldn't discern a difference).

I had an Oscar Meyer All Beef link the other day. And I loaded it up. Um... YUM! I couldn't believe what I was eating could actually be called a hot dog! It's so different from the beef/pork/chicken $0.88 package of Bar-S dogs. It had flavor. It was meaty. It was juicy. It had snap!

I'll definitely keep eating the Bar-S hot dogs, because they're cheap and because I was perfectly happy to eat them before my eyes were opened to the goodness of the Oscar Meyer wiener (I'll talk about food snobbery soon), but I'll also be watching the grocery ads in the future.

I can't stand Bar-S. We have tried to figure out why, because it would be so much nicer on the budget, but even if I pop them in mac and cheese the kids still won't eat them, lol. We love Ball Park, of course. We don't eat a lot of hot dogs, as you can guess!

I hate being a food snob, sniffle, but I guess I am!!
