Spotted On Our Walk Today

Normally at 6:30am I'd be sawing logs. But as per our new schedule, today I was out walking with the early birds.

A Great Blue Heron, to be exact.

No kidding, it was pretty majestic.

They are beautiful birds!  Good for you, getting up and walking.  I would theoretically LOVE to do that.  But, actually it's more like I'd like to be able to MAKE me do that.  It takes having goats that NEED milking to get me up that early.

Beautiful bird!  Isn't it such a treat to be able to see such things!

Oh, it's SUCH a treat! It greatly lessens the pain of being out of breath :).

It's taken 3 years of me talking about it to actually do it, and then only because my husband is on board and wakes me up on the days when my pillow-craving head doesn't want to :). SO interesting you'd bring up goats, 'cause I'm doing this in large part to prove I CAN wake up early consistently so I could take care of dairy animals ;).
